The 24th of September marked Heritage Day, or what many South Africans now refer to as"National Braai Day", which has been
commemorated since 1996.
The COVID-19 pandemic brought many of the world’s activities to a halt and significantly impacted on the mental health and well-being of people across the world. Some individuals were able to adapt, while others experienced a decline in their mental health.

In light of October being mental health month in South Africa, it seemed relevant to reflect on how it is that we give meaning to our lives. For some, each one of us has a purpose to fulfil. For others, we are the meaning makers and create our own life meaning and purpose. For others still, there is no meaning at all, we are just here for the ride!
A group of cyclists from Durban and surrounding areas have put their bikes to work for St Theresa’s Home in Sydenham, Durban. They have undertaken the daunting task of riding from Johannesburg to Durban. They have ridden a mammoth 650km of challenging terrain to create awareness and raise much needed funds for the St. Theresa’s Home, which has been around since 1925 and a lighthouse in the community it serves.
