Sikander Kalla is a Registered Clinical Psychologist and the Founder of Cohesive Collaboration. For the work that he has done with his business Cohesive Collaboration (a mental health awareness and consulting brand) he has won numerous awards by multiple publications such as Forbes magazine and Mail & Guardian newspaper where he was listed as part of Forbes 30 Under 30 and Mail & Guardian Top 200. Sikander Kalla was also recently awarded the Global Leader Award in Dubai for his impact on the African continent.
Sikander obtained his Masters Degree in Clinical Psychology with thirteen distinctions and completed his clinical training at specialised clinical facilities in South Africa. Sikander currently practices within the Sandton (Johannesburg) region at various clinical settings and his more recent endeavours include finalising his concept paper for PhD candidature at Wits School of Public Health (a Top 5 ranked public university in South Africa) whilst currently holding a consulting position at the University of Pretoria (another Top 5 ranked public university in South Africa).
Alongside his clinical endeavours, Sikander has a strong passion for art and history. His affinity for art and history is complimented by his credentials in the field, including but not limited to having studied African Anthropology at a higher education level and continuously supporting numerous African artists over the years. More recently, Sikander was appointed in an advisory position at the Smithsonian Museum complex in Washington, D.C. Sikander also has an inclination to leadership and public speaking. In this regard, he has presented numerous talks at initiatives launched by the South African National Department of Health and hosted by South African provincial departments of health, as well as multiple media appearances for national news networks such as eNCA, SABC News, Newsroom Afrika and companies such as TikTok and L'Oréal South Africa to name a few.
Sikander unpacks topics such as the importance of black representation, hegemonic masculinity, raising boy children, gender-based violence, relationships in the modern age and coping with mental health difficulties post the acute phase of the COVID-19 pandemic.
